Controlled Substances Policy

Florida laws and statutes prohibit a provider from prescribing controlled substances in excess of a certain amount at one time. Patients must be seen routinely for medication management of Florida controlled substances. Some medications may necessitate an office visit every 90 days, while others might only require a minimum visit every 6 months. Additionally, random drug testing can be conducted at any time to ensure that the prescribed controlled substances are being taken as directed. Before initiating therapy on a controlled substance, patients will need to sign a 'Controlled Substance Prescriber Agreement' form.
